"Next Steps" are where we can begin going once we understand the fundamentals of this dance. It's exciting to take our basics and begin to learn how to create variations and take it to the next level.
In this workshop, we will dig a little deeper into our connection with our partner so that we can add extensions, rock and gos, and alternate rhythms to any basic pattern.
This workshop is designed for folks who have come to all six fundamental classes and/or feel well versed in the basics: pushes, passes, tucks, starter step, throw out, and whip. If you are interested and want to know if this class is a good fit for you, please reach out.
This one-time workshop will consist of two hours of learning, 2-4 pm, and half an hour of guided practice, 4-4:30.
Those with a six-pack may use 2 of their classes, and drop-ins are $24 each. Registration is optional but strongly encouraged as details are always subject to change. Please reach out to me to let me know you are coming.

West Coast Swing is a modern social dance developed in California sometime during the ’40s and ’50s and is constantly evolving as popular music changes. Like all swing dances, its roots are in Lindy hop, originating in the Black communities of Harlem, New York City.
This dance prioritizes connection with your partner, musicality, and improvisation. It is characterized by being danced on a slot, using an elastic redirection, and delayed weight transfers. The West Coast Swing community has become worldwide; dances and events can be found in most major cities and beyond.
